MADE IN CHINA - MADE IN NO CHINA

They are in such contrasting moods, these heroes of the past, sovereigns over millions: Mao soft and understanding, victor and master, nearly a god to a billion Chinese; Napoleon, by contrast, dramatic and inconstant, a titan thrown down, Prometheus. Two action men, genius politicians, they are equal in this picture; neither of them dominates the composition. But the irony of history is that these symbols of East and West are no longer idols: they have gradually become a product, a recognized tourist brand. Barcodes, like on goods; the knowingly incorrect label "Made in no China" highlights a peculiar feature of the present day. Today and especially in future, when all production finally moves to China, it will be legitimate to tag every good as "Made in China" and only few items produced outside the Celestial Kingdom will be labelled "Made in no China".
